Reiki is a gentle, subtle Japanese healing practice that helps restore balance on all levels – body, mind, and spirit. Reiki treatment is usually facilitated by light touch or hands above the body, typically bringing rapid stress reduction, a sense of calm and relaxation, and relief from pain and anxiety. The system of Reiki created by Mikao Usui in the early twentieth century is based on a set of precepts (shown above), and in today’s fast-paced world, it seems the gifts this system of healing offers are more pertinent than ever.
For many of us, an array of everyday tasks need to be tended to, a bombardment of information to digest and process, and all the while, we are trying to make time for the people and the issues we hold dear to us. This is not an easy task for any one person to navigate. Through the practice of Reiki, we can access a beautiful way to slow down, connect with the stillness within, and create balance in our daily lives.

This class will be dedicated to basic hands-on practice, with a focus on daily Reiki self-treatment. This class includes the four First-Degree initiations; protocols for self-treatment and informal treatment. The latter enables you to offer Reiki to others including family, friends, co-workers, and pets.
